It seems like it was just yesterday that Facebook launched Live Videos, allowing users to post videos onto their timeline, in real time. When Live Videos was launched, businesses across the globe used this opportunity to include this type of content into their social media marketing campaigns. Now, it seems as though people have already grown weary of Live Videos and are now looking at ways to benefit from other new features and hacks. While new features are launched on a regular basis, we have compiled a list of the top four Facebook updates that should not be missed in early 2017, as well as how each of these updates can help you increase your sales.

  1. New insights to your ad reports

Predicted ad results are more transparent with Delivery Insights and Estimated Daily Results. The Delivery Insights dashboard now provides in-depth auction metrics that help to interpret the fluctuations in your campaign’s performance. This updated tool will also help you interpret whether overlapping audiences between ad sets might be affecting your spend and audience saturation.

Additionally, Facebook has updated their ad results prediction so that you have a better overview of future campaign results. It will also help when setting up campaign budgets, as you can now see a table with predicted ad delivery and reach.

  1. A new in-app camera

With the new in-app camera, you can tap on the camera icon on the top left corner of your Facebook mobile app and be lead to dozens of effects like masks, frames and interactive filters that can be applied to your videos or photos.  Facebook has also partnered up with other brands to create masks for upcoming movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Despicable Me 3, Alien: Covenant, Wonder Woman, Power Rangers, and Smurfs: The Lost Village.

The new in-app camera could be a great tool for businesses because customers would be encouraged to take pictures of their purchases, add a few filters, and share it with their friends and family.

  1. A new Live Location feature

A temporary live location feature inside of Messenger allows users to share their location with their friends and family. The difference between this feature and other online location features is the fact that this tool also allows people to track your movements an hour at a time.

If you own a storefront, chances are that you have received messages on social media prompting for your store location. This tool is the best way to lead customers directly to you. It also helps to determine exactly where your customer is if he or she had taken the wrong turn and got lost.

  1. New live stream app for desktops

Until recently, live streaming was only available through the mobile app. But now, live videos can be broadcasted to news feeds from desktops and laptop computers. The new live streaming capacities could be used to organise webinars right on Facebook – you can also incorporate on-screen graphics, titles, and overlays.
